Job Description:
The position interacts closely with the Director of IT Security, and senior staff. The IT Security Administrator shall provide complex analytical and specialized technical support for IT security issues. This position performs security configuration analysis of networks and operating systems, and insures industry best-practice techniques adherence. The position requires strong project implementation skills. The IT Security Administrator shall work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel to complete all projects successfully. Knowledge of Cisco infrastructure equipment, Microsoft operating systems, and a working knowledge of network protocols are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assists with identifying and reporting security violations
Research changes to procedure and systems to enhance information systems security
Monitor and diagnose security logs on the network
Maintain, modify, and enhance automated information security tests and evaluations, risk assessments, software/hardware evaluations, access control, and other related information security systems
Assists in communicating security procedures to users
Monitor, evaluate, and assist in maintaining systems and procedures to protect the information systems from unauthorized users
Provide problem administration, capacity planning as it pertains to IT Security
Provide support and assistance to IT personnel in the implementation of resolutions necessary to assure compliance with detected threats/vulnerabilities

Core Qualification:
Proficiency with Security technologies (i.e., Intrusion Detection, Vulnerability Assessment, etc)
Proficiency with internetworking technologies (i.e. Routers, switches, firewalls).
Experience with Windows Server and Unix
Experience monitoring/extracting daily system/server logs for security violations.
Experience in identifying and reporting security violations.
Excellent Verbal Communication Skills
Oracle User Administration a plus
Ability to work in a team environment
Special Licenses or Certifications such as CISSP certification, SSCP certification and GIAC certification are desirable
